Meredith College is a liberal arts women's college located in Raleigh, which is the capital city and the 2nd largest city of the US state of North Carolina, its population exceeding 405 700 inhabitants, according to the 2009 census estimate.
The college was established in 1891, as the Baptist Female University, and gets its name, which was adopted in 1909, from Thomas Meredith, founder of the Biblical Recorder.
